Our Player Development Structure

Mississauga United FC follows a structured development pathway designed to help players
progress through different stages of learning and competition.

Our programs include:

  • Future Stars Soccer (U4–U6) – introductory soccer development
  • Development Program (U7–U9) – technical skill development and small-sided games
  • Elite Player Squad – additional training for high-potential players
  • Competitive Rep Teams (U8–U13) – structured team training and competitive leagues
  • Elite Player Pathway – advanced development opportunities

Our coaching staff works collaboratively to help players move through these stages and continue
improving their technical ability and understanding of the game.


Types of Soccer Coach Positions

Mississauga United FC regularly recruits coaches for a variety of roles.

Youth Soccer Coaches
Coaches working with our Future Stars and Development programs help young players build
foundational soccer skills while developing coordination, teamwork, and confidence.

Competitive Rep Team Coaches
Rep team coaches lead U8–U13 competitive teams, delivering structured training sessions and
coaching players in league games and tournaments.

Elite Player Development Coaches
These coaches support players within our Elite Player Squad and Elite Player Pathway,
helping prepare athletes for higher levels of competitive soccer.


Typical Training Schedule

Many of our coaches work across multiple programs during the evening training schedule.

Example structure:
6:00 – 7:00 PM: Future Stars and Development Programs
7:00 – 8:30 PM: Competitive Rep Team Training

This structure allows coaches to:

  • Work with players across different development levels
  • Identify talented players early
  • Support progression within the Elite Player Pathway

Coaching Qualifications

We welcome applications from coaches who demonstrate a passion for youth player
development and strong knowledge of the game.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Ontario Soccer C Licence or higher
  • Experience coaching youth soccer teams
  • Knowledge of Long-Term Player Development (LTPD)
  • Understanding of FIFA Laws of the Game
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Former competitive players, university players, and coaches working toward certification are
also encouraged to apply.
